He was born in 1908 AD, received his education in Aleppo and Beirut, then continued his studies in Britain. He excelled in renewing the Arabic poem with powerful language and a deep poetic image. He devoted his poetry to the issues of the homeland, the nation, and resistance to injustice and colonialism. He left a rich literary legacy of collections and poetic plays, and received Arab and international honors.
He passed away on July 14, 1990 AD, and his poetic legacy remains an immortal mark in Arab culture.
