Read "The cultural center in the town of Al-Surah Al-Sughra in the northern countryside of As-Suwayda commemorated the anniversary of the passing of the national leader Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash, in the presence of Minister of Culture Muhammad Yassin Al-Saleh, along with the Governor of As-Suwayda, Dr. Mustafa Al-Bakour, and a number of other officials.
The Minister of Culture emphasized that pivotal moments in the history of nations necessitate recalling their unifying figures, pointing to the personality of Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash, his heroism, and his rejection of sectarian mini-states.
The Minister added that Syria today is focused on consolidating the values of national unity through various inclusive projects, particularly cultural ones, and on strengthening the role of culture as a space for dialogue and convergence. He also noted that Jabal Al-Arab (the Druze Mountain) constitutes an integral part of the national identity.
For his part, the Governor of As-Suwayda, Dr. Mustafa Al-Bakour, stressed that As-Suwayda, with its diverse components, represents “a microcosm of Syria,” calling for a unifying national vision that prioritizes the national interest and strengthens cohesion among Syrians.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Laith Al-Balous recalled Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash’s will that “religion is for God and the homeland is for everyone” and that the men of Jabal Al-Arab carry the values left by the leader Sultan Pasha Al-Atrash in defending the unity of the homeland and preserving its dignity." from Ministry Of Culture.
