Under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, the General Organization for Cinema launched the second edition of the “Syrian Revolution Films” festival at the Damascus Opera House. The event was attended by the Director of the General Organization for Cinema, Jihad Abdo, and several cultural and diplomatic delegations, including the Chargé d'Affaires of the French Embassy in Syria, Jean-Baptiste Faivre. The festival program features 24 films, both fiction and documentary, including nine feature films and fifteen short films. This diverse selection offers multiple perspectives and narratives on the revolution and the profound social and human transformations that accompanied it. This initiative is part of a project aimed at documenting the visual memory of the transformations that Syria witnessed during the rule of the former regime and strengthening the role of cinema as a tool for documentation and a living visual record.
