




The Ministers of Culture of Syria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Visit the National Museum in Damascus His Excellency Mr. Muhammad Yassin Al-Saleh, Minister of Culture of the Syrian Arab Republic, received His Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during His Highness's visit to Damascus to participate in the opening of the 2026 Damascus International Book Fair, where the Kingdom is the guest of honor. Participating in the reception and tour of the National Museum were Mr. Ahmad Sawaf, Assistant Minister of Culture, and Dr. Masoud Badawi, Director of Antiquities and Museums, along with the delegation accompanying His Highness the Saudi Minister of Culture, which included His Excellency Mr. Muhammad bin Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, Advisor at the Royal Court; His Excellency Mr. Hamed bin Muhammad Fayez, Deputy Minister of Culture; His Excellency Mr. Rakan bin Ibrahim Al-Tuwaiq, Assistant Minister of Culture; His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Muhaisin, Advisor at the Royal Court; and His Excellency Mr. Faisal bin Abdul Rahman bin Muammar, General Supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library. The two ministers and their delegations toured the halls of the Syrian National Museum, viewing its rich collections of rare artifacts displayed across wings covering prehistoric times, ancient Syrian antiquities, the Classical period, the Islamic era, traditional arts, and modern art. They also visited the Arab-Islamic wing, which houses exhibits from the Umayyad period, most notably artifacts from Qasr al-Hayr al-Gharbi. This visit comes within the framework of strengthening cultural cooperation between the two countries and highlighting the civilizational role of Syria and its national museums.
