
The "April Homs" Festival kicked off today in Al-Arbaeen Square in Homs, in the presence of Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh and Homs Governor Abdul Rahman Al-A'ma, amidst a festive atmosphere reflecting the vitality of the Syrian cultural scene and its renewed presence in the public sphere. The festival, organized by the "Wednesday Homs" team under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and the Homs Governorate, features a diverse program of events and will continue until April 24th. These include artistic performances, booths showcasing handicrafts and traditional industries with the participation of artisans and creators from various fields, activities for children, and the presence of the Ministry of Culture's mobile cultural unit, offering interactive and educational programs. Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Al-Saleh emphasized the importance of the festival, noting that culture provides a unifying space for Syrians and contributes to strengthening the values of coexistence, ethics, and social interaction. He also highlighted the importance of the mobile cultural unit and its role in supporting these efforts. He further commended the efforts of the volunteer teams, media professionals, and all those involved in organizing the festival. The organization of the festival comes within the framework of efforts aimed at consolidating Homs’ position on the map of national events, and presenting it as a living model of the integration of culture with tourism, with the aim of adopting the festival as a sustainable annual event that reflects the richness of the city and its renewed cultural heritage.
