The Minister of Culture, Muhammad Yassin Al-Saleh, held a meeting with the directors of culture in all Syrian governorates, during which he discussed the priorities of cultural work for the next stage, and mechanisms for developing performance, in a way that enhances the role of cultural institutions and their impact on society.

The Minister stressed that culture is a moral responsibility and a national message that contributes to building the human being and consolidating the system of values, stressing that the next stage requires focusing on the quality of cultural content and enhancing its societal impact, in a way that consolidates the culture’s message about moral and national responsibility beyond regulation. Activities aim to contribute to building humanity and consolidating the system of values in society.

He pointed out the importance of reflecting the impact of cultural activities on individuals’ behavior and daily practices, in addition to raising awareness of the transitional justice file, consolidating the principle of “victory without revenge,” and supporting civil peace by activating mutual cultural visits between governorates, pointing to the preparations for launching a cultural competition at the governorate level to support national competencies and stimulate cultural initiatives, stressing the importance of continuing the “Cleanliness is Culture” campaign in practice. A civilizational approach that enhances the values of social responsibility.

The Minister also listened to the interventions of cultural directors about the reality of work in the governorates and the challenges they face, stressing the importance of continuing to develop performance and enhancing coordination between the directorates in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of cultural work.
