Jordanian cultural and political elites invite the Minister of Culture to a special dialogue session at the Institute of Politics and Society
In the context of his visit to Jordan, the Minister of Culture, Muhammad Yassin Al-Saleh, responded to the invitation of Jordanian cultural elites to a special dialogue session at the Institute of Politics and Society in the capital, Amman, during which he met with the director of the institute, Rasha Saleem, along with a group of Jordanian writers, publishers, researchers, politicians, and heads of private cultural institutions in Jordan.
The session The dialogue was entitled “The New Syria: Cultural Diplomacy and Its Challenges,” and it discussed the role of cultural diplomacy in promoting dialogue and openness, the most prominent challenges facing the cultural sector and its institutions, and the priorities for developing cultural policies, in addition to the role of culture in preserving national identity and enhancing societal cohesion.
The session discussed ways to build bridges and consolidate Syrian-Jordanian cultural relations and restore joint activities and events to a level that is commensurate with the historical ties between the Syrian and Jordanian peoples.

The Minister was briefed on the Institute’s most prominent programs and activities at the national and regional levels, especially the work of the Syrian-Jordanian Relations Unit of the Research Department, which is concerned with studying relations between the two countries, keeping pace with the transformations in Syria, and developing areas of dialogue and joint cooperation.
The session concluded by emphasizing the importance of expanding areas of cultural and intellectual cooperation, and strengthening partnerships between cultural and research institutions in a way that contributes to developing communication and exchanging experiences, and supporting the role of culture in the next stage.
