The Minister of Culture receives Syrian intellectuals who contributed to enhancing scientific and literary life in Jordan
The Minister of Culture, Muhammad Yassin Al-Saleh, met, in the Ministry’s pavilion at the Amman International Book Fair, the historian and academic Dr. Muhammad Muwaffaq Al-Arnaout and the novelist and academic Dr. Shahla Al-Ajili, and discussed with them the contributions of Syrian intellectuals to the scientific and cultural life in Jordan, and their role in enhancing cultural communication between Both countries.
Minister Al-Saleh praised the academic and literary contributions of Arnaout and Al-Ajili, stressing the importance of introducing the production of Syrian intellectuals residing in Jordan, and enhancing cooperation between cultural and academic institutions in the two countries.
He also praised the symposium in which Al-Arnaout participated on Jordanian-Syrian academic cooperation, and the ideas it presented that could be built upon, in particular A proposal for twinning between the faculties of arts at the universities of Jordan and Damascus, and the possibility of expanding the experience to include other faculties and universities.
He welcomed the issuance of a Syrian edition of Al-Arnaout’s book “From Government to State: The Experience of the Arab Government in Damascus 1918–1920,” after the issuance of two editions of it in Jordan.
